Gasum Makes its 1st Cruise Ship STS LNG Bunkering

The Nordic energy company Gasum said that its liquefied natural gas (LNG) bunker vessel Coralius conducted first ever ship-to-ship (STS) bunkering to a cruise ship - Carnival Corporation's cruise vessel Costa Smeralda.During the bunkering operation, LNG was supplied to the newbuild Costa Smeralda at the Meyer Turku shipyard.

Global Dream Reaches Wismar

Hong Kong–German shipbuilding company MV Werften announced that the 216 m long hull of the “Global Dream” arrive safely at its Wismar location after a nearly 50-mile tow.The midsection of the Global Dream, which was towed from Rostock-Warnemunde will be assembled and fitted out for Dream Cruises at Wismar facility.

Ponant Orders Two Ships from Fincantieri

Italian shipbuilder Fincantieri has signed a memorandum of agreement (MoA) to design and construct two new-generation luxury expedition cruise ships for French cruise operator Ponant.The MoA also envisages an option for one further sister-ship. DMC Chosen for SunStone’s Fifth Infinity-Class Vessel

Damen Marine Components (DMC) received acontract to supply the rudders and steering gear for the fifth Infinity-class vessel to be built for SunStone Ships by China Merchants Heavy Industries to an Ulstein design. Costa Smeralda Delivery Delayed Again

Finnish shipyard Meyer Turku announced it has encountered more delays in the construction of a 180,000 GT cruise ship for Costa Cruises.Having already pushed back the delivery date from mid-October to mid-November, the shipbuilder said it now plans to hand over the newbuild Costa Smeralda in December 2019.
