SCHOTTEL Propulsion for Turkish-built Tug

SCHOTTEL said it has secured a contract with Turkish shipbuilder Med Marine to provide propulsion units for a newly built escort and harbor tug. The Robert-Allan-designed tugboat is under construction at the Ereğli Shipyard in Northern Turkey. It will be used for harbor and terminal operations as well as for coastal towing.

Schottel won a contract to provide propulsion units for a new harbor tug under construction at Tongfang Jiangxin Shipbuilding in China. Ordered by the Taizhou Maritime Safety Administration, it will be equipped with SCHOTTEL Rudderpropellers type SRP 430. Each of the azimuth thrusters will be driven by a 1,920 kW diesel engine at 750 rpm.

The Hamburg Port Authority (HPA) has chosen SCHOTTEL for two more fire-fighting vessels. Each of the fireboats features two rudderpropellers type SRP 150 L FP (380 kW each) with a propeller diameter of 1.10 m and a transverse thruster type STT 60 FP (100 kW). Schottel Enters the Tanker Segment

Schottel recently received an order to supply two EcoPellers and a bow thruster for installation in a chemical/oil tanker.
