Navios Acquires Two Container Vessels

 Navios Maritime Containers, a growth vehicle dedicated to the container sector, announced today that it has agreed to acquire two 2009-built 4,250 TEU container vessels for an aggregate purchase price of $19.75 million.    The vessels are expected to be delivered to Navios Containers’ fleet in early November 2017.

GMG Acquires Fugro’s Trenching, Cable Laying Business

Global Marine Group (GMG) will acquire Fugro’s trenching and cable laying business in exchange for an equity stake of around 24 percent in the combined business valued at $65 million, and a one year secured vendor loan of $ 7.5 million. Fugro said it will realize a gain on this transaction, valued at approximately $73 million.

Exmar USD 23mln Richer After Excel Sale

The Belgian gas tanker company Exmar has sold its liquefied natural gas (LNG) tanker Excel for $ 23 million.   "Exmar is pleased to announce the sale of the LNG carrier Excel (138,107 m³). The 2003 built Excel has been delivered to its new owners on 6th of October 2017," said a press statement from the company.

Finnlines Plc said it has sold a 1999-built ro-pax vessel MS Finneagle to the Grimaldi Group.   The 18-year-old MS Finneagle was chartered out to the Grimaldi Group from June 2017, and it will be delivered to the Grimaldi Group in October 2017.   The freight capacity of the vessel is 2,459 lane meters, and passenger capacity is 835 passengers.

15,000-TEU Container Ship Will be Delivered to Hapag-Lloyd

 Another large container ship will be added to the fleet of the liner shipping company Hapag-Lloyd. The “Al Jmeliyah” will be handed over to Hapag-Lloyd tomorrow at the shipyard of Hyundai Samho Heavy Industries (HSHI) in South Korea.    With a capacity of 15,000 TEU, this ship is classed as an ultra-large container vessel (ULCV).
